The FBI’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Academy brings private-sector CISOs from key industries together to engage in candid-language dialogue about how to address cyber threats. The Academy’s ultimate goal is to inform industry executives about the benefits of working with the FBI and their field offices – before, during, and after a cyber incident.
In March, I had the opportunity to spend a week in Quantico, VA at the FBI CISO Academy. The content was exceptional and valuable. I was able to gather with several other CISOs who protect the US Critical Infrastructure and share our insights and struggles. We received numerous briefings and case studies on how the FBI and other agencies are hard at work stopping cyber crimes and partnering with the private sector.
I want to say thanks to FBI Cyber Division and the members of my “class” for a fantastic week. Truly an incredible opportunity.
One of the biggest takeaways I can give you is to reach out to your local field office and meet the agents there. Start a relationship in case it is ever needed. Add their contact to your incident response plans. Go the extra step and get involved with your local InfraGard National Members Alliance.
